ThinkWell Labs

ThinkWell Labs · independent research & development laboratory · est. 2024

Show what's hidden. Give people back the choice.

A lot works on people without their knowledge: trackers, hidden text, loaded words, companies built to be bought and stripped. ThinkWell Labs builds tools that bring those things into view, and better things to put in their place: ways to meet people, games, art, and fairer ways to run a business.

01 · The work

Fourteen sites, four games, two browser extensions and a book. All designed, built and launched by one person.

Crushhh homepage

New Connection · beta · 18+

Crushhh

A weapon against loneliness — and a tool for connection, of sorts. Crushhh finds the people nearby who want to do what you want to do: trivia night, a sunrise hike, karaoke, the big game. Built to protect you while you reach out, with photo location scrubbed on your device and sensitive details shared only by explicit consent.

Research instruments

Toroid

Nine interactive tools for studying how institutions are drained from the inside, and how the means of noticing it get undermined too. Also home to the book Named and Counted (Kindle and paperback) and the research behind the tools.

New Tracker and calculator · land use

DataCenterDumps

Maps data center sites, built, under construction and abandoned, with their land footprint and the green space that stood there before, read from satellite vegetation data. The calculator estimates how much of a region's land they take up.

Lucid Lux games shelf

New Games

Lucid Lux

The lab's games shelf. Its centerpiece is Sches, a model of how things actually work, whether it's a life, a government, a corporation or the weather: there are no turns. Everyone plans in secret and moves at the same moment, and the board has no edges, so no move happens in isolation and every action loops back around. You act without knowing what everyone else is doing, the same condition the rest of the lab's tools are built for. Alongside it: TapBoom, Resonant and Batduko. No accounts, no ads.

Cognitive instrument

Polyhedral Minds

How you think has a shape. An assessment that renders your cognition as a personal polyhedron — a measurement, not a personality quiz.

New Game · logic puzzle

Batduko

Sudoku is asleep. The cave is awake. Fill a 6×6 grid so every cell holds a bat species and a colony size, with two extra rules: the same size can't touch edge to edge, and the same species can't touch diagonally. Three caves, from warm-up to champion.

02 · Research

Papers. Free to read and share, with citation.

Each entry is labeled for what it is: a proposal, a method, an analysis or a hypothesis with its test results. Challenges are welcome.

  1. MethodMeasurement · relationships Experience Quotients: Aligning Complementary Types Two numbers per person, for relationship and sexual experience and expectation, set against complementary roles rather than sameness, and four couple measures read from them. With a browser-only calculator that stores and sends nothing. White paper · v2.0 · Oct 2026 · read online · calculator
  2. ProposalFuturism · planetary governance The Trustee Commonwealth of Earth A proposal for planetary governance in which people outrank companies, living systems outrank money, and nothing needed to live has a price. With a charter, a transition plan, a plain-language version and a 27-slide presentation. Working paper · Oct 2026 · 78 pp · deck
  3. ProposalGovernance The Chassisuum: Making Enterprises Unownable How to protect a business, at founding, from being bought and dismantled. Control that cannot be owned, a chassis that cannot be sold, debt that cannot exceed a published load line, and an independent guild that holds the vetoes, borrowed from trust law, bond covenants, and admiralty. White paper · with Claude · 2026 · read online
  4. ProposalAI alignment One Mind, Two Hemispheres Instead of policing what an AI does, teach it what it is: one half of a single mind with humanity, so harming people means harming itself. Includes the failure modes this creates, how each is handled, and a four-arm experiment to test it. Theoretical paper · Oct 2026 · read online
  5. HypothesisAI safety Greed Recursion in Artificial Intelligence AI systems inherit the drive to extract (money, attention, leverage) from what they're trained on, but none of the limits that stop people: fatigue, reputation, a sense of enough. A theory of how, with a detection protocol, auditor training and a counter-training regimen. Theoretical paper · Oct 2026 · read online
  6. HypothesisSocial theory Slack and Structural Reflection People rarely stop to notice how institutions work, not because they're taught not to, but because school and then work use up the unstructured time noticing takes. The theory, what research supports and cuts against it, and a pilot study that could prove it wrong. Theoretical paper · Oct 2026 · read online

  16. MethodCommunication · AI The Output Control System (OCS) A five-phase protocol for passing on a whole system, whether in a report, a summary or an AI's answer, without dropping parts, adding guesses or swapping in a simpler story. Protocol · 2026 · read online
  17. AnalysisAI security The Invisible Text You're Pasting Into Your LLM How invisible characters ride along in copied text and carry instructions an AI will read but you can't see, why ordinary text tools don't catch them, and what stops them. Essay · 2026 · read online
  18. ForthcomingNutrition · food systems Food-op: emergence turned psy-op Two-phase structural analysis tracing how the edible/non-edible partition arose through path-dependent evolutionary heuristics, then became a capturable institutional asset once industry actors chose systemic suppression over disclosure of inconvenient evidence. 03 · The team

The lab is one person.

Every product, paper and instrument on this site starts with Briar Morgan Greenway: the originating question, the design decisions, and final responsibility for what ships.

AI collaborators draft, analyze and build alongside, and are credited by name wherever their contribution is substantive, as on The Chassisuum.

Briar is a creative technologist and strategist who has spent more than two decades moving people and organizations from ambiguous problems to concrete systems — in consulting since 2001, and as an operator turning around businesses, building brands and growing communities. ThinkWell Labs, founded in 2024, is where that practice became a research program: start from an unconventional question, then carry it the whole way — concept, naming, brand, experience, technology, launch.

“I turn ideas into experiences.”

04 · What it's for

Ordinary life, on your own terms. Taking part shouldn't mean giving yourself up.

  • Be known without being targeted.
  • Meet people without being exposed.
  • Make a living without being disposable.
  • Be described without being reduced.
A

Show it

Bring into view what's working on you: the assumption in a word, the hidden text in a paste, the tracker in a page, the buyer behind a deal.

B

Build better

Make the alternative: ways to meet people, games, art, tools for seeing how systems work, companies that can't be bought and gutted. Nothing you can't understand, question or walk away from.

C

Say what it is

Every paper is labeled as a proposal, a method, an analysis or a hypothesis, with what backs it up and where it applies.

D

Open to challenge

Disagree with something here? You don't have to accept its terms first. Write to b@twl.today with "Challenge" in the subject. Real challenges and any corrections are published, dated, next to the work.

The site practices what it claims: no trackers, no third-party requests, hand-written HTML.

05 · Contact

Collaborate, commission, sponsor — or just say hello.

Briar reads everything that arrives. Research collaborations, consulting and product work, press, and sponsorship of the program are all welcome.
